I started at Guy Motors in August 1969 as an apprentice. There were 8 of us in that years intake. They were Paul Milano, John Wilkin, Andy Hogg, Victor Washington Watson, Gurmit Singh, Makhan Singh Uppal, and another fellow who’s name escapes me, but we called him “Bosh” for some reason. The Training Officer’s name was David Smith. The first year was spent in the Training School, which was situated near the gatehouse.
